The hard truth of your spiritual awakening is that you are responsible for your experiences and your life. You are the powerful energy behind your life, no one else is doing it to you.

There isn’t a puppeteer making you do or say anything. Each moment you are creating your next moment. You are the driver of your bus of life, and you call every catalyst to you. These catalysts will help you grow as a spiritual being and it helps you to recognize where you give your power away.

The mystics know this and see through the idea that you are the victim to circumstances. They show you how to understand how the pain and difficulties in your life help your spiritual development.

I don’t believe in lessons, most people see lessons as negative, I usually don’t hear people say they learned a lesson of winning the lottery and finding the love of their life. I see everything we experience as just that, an experience, not a lesson.

Your experiences can make you feel like a victim or as empowered, it is your choice. Your victim drains your energy and keeps you stuck in a lower vibration. How can you see love in even the most difficult circumstances? By recognizing where you are giving your power away.

It’s easy to give your power away instead of going into your heart and feel your power of love and compassion. This isn’t about speaking up or telling someone off. Real power is an internal strength, an internal feeling that doesn’t need outward action. Your power is about knowing and believing in yourself.

I am not a fan of the word survivor. Survival means you must fight to feel powerful, or you must have a difficult ordeal to overcome. I love to think of the powerful person as embodying loving kindness.

You don’t have to survive a difficult ordeal; you can begin to understand that the catalyst is just an experience to show you where you are flowing with the universe and where you are resisting. The catalyst is your wakeup call that something within you needs to change. But you must be willing to look at it.

With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.” – Wayne Dyer
